Have you found and adapted to your new normal yet? The pandemic doesn't seem to be going away that quickly. For some of us, it is a season of slowing down and recalibrating, while for some others it could be a time for seizing opportunities in creative manners. Some want to have it all. Some others may not even have the choice and are just doing best to stay afloat. Doesn't matter; no need to beat ourselves up, please. Do or not do, rest inwardly we must. :) 

We wanted to drop you a note on some of the things happening within mori community in Q3! We have been quiet for awhile, as we are working behind the scenes to prepare for new items for Christmas 2020! Who's looking forward to Christmas already? And hopefully we can spread some cheer this year amidst the crazy things happening!

GIVING THANKS FOR PARTNERS

Some of you already know that in March when Manila went into lockdown, it was an answered prayer for mori moms to be able to make face shields and subsequently fabric masks for livelihood. Thanks to everyone's support, mori moms were able to make about 1,000 masks and we donated over 400 masks through Contribute.SG and Singapore Red Cross to those in need in Singapore. We also had partners like Faithworks who helped sell our masks at their online and offline store, and also Citibank who sold mori masks to Citibank's staff, while donating proceeds to H.O.M.E (for migrant workers). There were 3 teams within DBS, Sift&Pick and Leprino Foods who also supported mori reusable masks for their teams.

At the same time, "you are a new creation" drawstring pouches were made early this year for baptism gifts, which could not be sold with the hit of the pandemic. In April, Anywhr.co reached out to us to purchase up all the pouches for their Keep Singapore United boxes, and subsequently more small vegan leather pouches, which were simple enough for more mothers (even less experienced ones) to hand make with the operational constraints due to lockdown! 

BEHIND THE SCENES: MORI MOMS

With the lockdown, what it means is that our experienced mothers are not able to go around houses of inexperienced mothers to train and do quality checks on products freely. 

Starting end July, we had to move experienced mothers to start working on our Christmas new products and designs. Due to the operational constraints,  we now have to consider various types of products for different segments of moms to make. Our key signature products like pursebooks and organisers are typically not simple to make products.

Ate Remy and one of her daughters. Because of the pandemic, schools have also moved online and cheaper laptops have been wiped out. For those of us in countries like Singapore, we would probably have overlooked such situations because we are blessed with good support system to support with such equipment needed. Do you know of anyone in your circle who may have been overlooked during this period? Sometimes, we don't know until we start asking and talking about them :)
